To the first man that loved me

Yeah I know this is a song from a Father to his Daughter, but it still makes me cry! *laughs* Everytime I listen to this song as well. (yes,I'm a big softie..)

I remember the first time I heard it, I was at the backseat of my daddy's car, we were driving to or from dinner.. it must've been about 8pm. I always had a similar loving relationship with my father.

Dad's not in the best of health at the moment, as some of you may know he's had an angioplasty done earlier in the year. I won't go into detail the extent of things because that's not important - what's important is that I've come to realise how I've taken his love for granted the older I've become, and that I've neglected the man that held man hand growing up. I love you Daddy, and I promise never to do that again.

I'll be going back home to KL alot more often now, to spend more quality time with him. His 70th is coming up. :) SEVENTY! Well all in all he's had a happy life - one grandson, four daughters, two son-in-laws, a loving wife, heaps of friends who respect him, a long established career and a generous pension scheme. ;) All his children have graduated from Uni with professional degrees, all of whom are doing pretty well for themselves. Only one daughter in the region though - me - and I think its such a blessing that I have a career that allows me to take time off as and when I need to. (Much thanks also goes to all the people who are supporting me in doing so.)

So yes, Daddy. Here's my birthday present to you - more of ME! ;D Its a little early, but oh well why wait.
