Bend it like Bikram

Lol. Ok quite lame lah my post title. ;) (ps. Bikram is a special sort of yoga..)

But yes, in case you guys don't already know, you'll be seeing me in pretty stretchy positions around Singapore and Malaysia ..

This photo was taken from www.trueyoga.com.sg. :)

Go check the classes out, try 0ne even, and I guarantee you'll love it. Warning though: don't bite off more than you can chew, because yoga can be pretty intense! :)) Start slow, and you'll be surprised how quickly you feel and see the effects!

I won't be able to go for yoga over the next three weeks tho. Cause I'm going to LONDON and PARIS! :D :D :D its going to be such blast, I've always wanted to go to Paris and how I finally will! And London to see Lucas my nephew (wait I think I've blogged about this already, but i'm just so excited that I can't help but keep raving on about it, sorry ah!). :)

Oh and to those who have replied to my post below, thank you.

Anyone knows anywhere good in Paris? ;) Let me know!

Sweetheart, let me know if you need people to show you around in Paris.

I have some friends/ family members living in France.

Places you to go to:-

Les Champs-Elysees for shopping

Montmartre (remember Le Destin d'Amelie Poulin?)

La Tour Eiffel/ Eiffel Tower

Trocadero

La Pyramide du Louvre / The Louvre Pyramide Museum

Les Tuileries garden

Oh.. so many places to go...

First thing you gotta do when you arrive in Paris- get those Metro subway monthly/weekly pass and it should come with a complete Metro map etc

Please don't carry a those travel books with you when you're walking alone in Paris... anything can happen in this beautiful city...

My favorite would Montmartre... And I know you will love the place too... You might want to get a portrait of yourself there...

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you Love

Allez! Bon Voyage!

Paris is my favourite city in the world!!! But you need months there, not weeks. My must go in Paris are the designer shops where products are used on the Parisienne catwalks with prices slashed down as a used item. They are still very new and lovely. Get a Lonely Planet Guide book to look up their addresses. And make sure you have a map when you're there!

Oh yes, and Versailles......you can just drown in its beauty.....

Andrea dear,

I have a friend working in a hotel in Paris at the moment. Maybe you guys can keep in touch and you can ask him which hotel is good for you based on your budget etc.

Also, I have some friends who are willing to help you out when you are in Paris so you don't get lost etc.

How do I pass you their mobile numbers and email address? Do I send the details to contact@andreafonseka.com ?

Looks like almost everything covered above. 2 places to to highlight.

1st is the Notre Dame Cathedral which is in the city. Very Gothic style. When I was there, there was a guy feeding the sparrows & the birds were so friendly they just sat everywhere around him, eating out of his hand & even tongue! He would give some grains to visitors & the birds will start eating off YOUR hand or tounge.. Haha...

2nd is the Sacré-Coeur Basilica (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) which is a bit far out & a bit quiet. Its made out of a special kind of stone that ensures that it remains white even till today. That's the reason despite hundreds of years, the basilica is still so white & beautiful! I really liked it there. Plus you get a great panorama of Paris city & the Eiffel Tower from there.

There are artist nearby there who will try to start sketching your face & coax you into buying it from them. Their works are beautiful, but they try to charge €30 for it!

Just my suggestions! Most tourist spot are easily accessible by the METRO trains, & remember, a day trip to Brussels is also a 30 minutes high speed train away. Have a blast, but remember to mind your things. Thieves there are ALOT more sophisticated.

P/S: Learn to say a few simple French phrases, it goes a long way. Start with bonjour (hello), parle vous anglais?(do you speak english?), Wii? (yes?), merci!(thank you!). Problem is, the words sound nothing like how they are spelt.

Yeah, these words don't sound like how they're spelt.

Bonjour is pronounced bon-shoo (something like that). parle vous anglais (par-lay voo ong-glay). Oui (yes, pronounced as we). Merci (mieq-see, where the tongue is rolled at q/r). Pronouncing it in person is easier than typing here. I'm half french by the way. :)
